Catalyst CEO participates in Black Policy Lab Panel on Sustainability

In October 2020, Catalyst CEO Algene Sajery participated in the 3rd Annual Black Policy Lab Conference. Algene was joined by fellow black women social impact influencers who are leading the  charge to change the power paradigm on sustainability in black, brown, and indigenous communities.

Algene discussed her work in support of indigenous leaders across the globe who have fought to protect their land and communities from those who pillage and displace for profit. For centuries indigenous communities have been fighting this fight, yet today’s green movement often excludes their voices. The profound injustices perpetrated against these communities for centuries illuminate the intersection of human rights, labor rights, land rights, food security, resource scarcity, and ultimately economic injustice and greed.

Catalyst is working to reframe the conversation in our human rights and diversity social impact efforts.
